"Can I help?"

Stephen was hovering. Jon, who was in the process of making their Thanksgiving dinner, did not find this conducive to working. "You can go sit in the living room and wait patiently," he said.

"Aw, Jon!" Stephen said, pouting at him. "I want to help! Can't I chop something or boil something or microwave something?"

Jon had been living with Stephen long enough to know that combining him with any sort of cooking-related task inevitably ended up being a very, very bad idea. "Go sit in the living room, Stephen. Watch some TV."

Stephen sidled up to him, wrapping his arms around his waist from behind. "Are you sure I can't help?"

"Distracting me doesn't help," Jon said, but still leaned back against him automatically. Stephen kissed his neck.

"But it's fun."

"Do I have to tie you to one of the chairs in the living room?" Jon asked, and smirked when more than just Stephen's body stiffened.

"...will you?" he asked breathlessly.

"Maybe later. For now, shoo. Out."

Stephen nodded at him helplessly, clearly preoccupied as he left the kitchen. Jon shook his head and smiled to himself as he went back to making their dinner.

So cute.

I'm sure Stephen could learn to do cooking-related tasks properly if he had the right motivation...

I was thinking "put him on a leash and spank him if he starts losing focus" -- it might only work for very short tasks before it broke down entirely, but at least something good would come of it.

I hope there are plenty of other things Stephen does around the house. Having a caretaking kink is one thing, but Jon still deserves to put his feet up once in a while. Possibly on top of Stephen.
