A/N: Product of a meme.
Think of you every night and day
You took my heart and you took my pride away.
I hate myself for loving you,
Can't break free from the things that you do.
I wanna walk but I run back to you
That’s why I hate myself for loving you.
—I Hate Myself For Loving You; Joan Jett and the Blackhearts
Stephen knew the difference between Wrong and Right, Good and Bad, Black and White. He knew how good boys behaved, lived, what they thought, what their hobbies were—all of it. He knew how he was supposed to be.
This didn’t fall into that. It was wrong—he was wrong. He shouldn’t think the things he thought when Jon was around, shouldn’t feel the things he felt. Good boys didn’t act like that, and he wanted so badly to be good. He wanted so badly to be able to stop, to never give these thoughts and feelings the time of day ever again. But he couldn’t. Sometimes, he rationalized it so that was okay.
And sometimes, it made him hate himself.
