Stephen was sulking. This was odd, Jon thought. It was the first thing in the morning, he wasn't being punished, and he'd even let him have the dessert he'd been asking for all week after dinner last night, so he wasn't totally sure what was causing this mood. "Something wrong, Stephen?" he asked.
"No, not at all!" Stephen said too quickly, looking down and crossing his arms. "What could be wrong? It's not like I'm worried you're going to throw yourself at Bruce Springsteen or anything! Nope, not me. Everything's fine. Peachy."
Jon blinked. "...you think I'm going to throw myself at Bruce Springsteen?"
"Of course not," Stephen replied. "But if I did, it wouldn't be so ridiculous, not with the way you're always talking about him, how excited you've been for this interview, the way you practically drool whenever his name comes up. But of course I don’t think that. Even though it'd be totally understandable if I did."
"Yeah, okay," Jon said. "Well, just for the record? I'm not going to."
Stephen chanced a glance up. "Really?"
"Really."
"Promise?
"Promise.”
"You won't even flirt with him?"
"Well..."
"Jon!"
"Aw, come on, Stephen. He's The Boss!"
Stephen harrumphed then and looked away, continuing to sulk his way through breakfast. Jon just shook his head.
