I won't hold anything back
And I won't hold anything in
Feel like I know where this is going
And I might know how it ends
But I'm still
Willing to begin

Just wait for me patiently
And you'll get all of me

—Most Of Me; Mandy Moore

It was hard for Stephen to let people in. With all those back-stabbers out there just waiting for him to fail, screw up, burn out—he didn’t trust easily. It didn’t make him paranoid. With his job, people were out to get him.

Even with Jon, it took years for them to get to where they were now. He didn’t trust him at first. He’d planned solidly on never trusting him at all, actually—after all, when Craig left, the host job should have gone to him.

But Jon was Jon. Over time, he’d won Stephen over. He’d smiled that goofy smile, ran his hand through that sexy hair, giggled that ridiculously adorable giggle…and that was that. No one could resist that. Not even Stephen.

And now he couldn’t imagine not trusting Jon.
